Our new medical volunteers have just started their second week with us here in Nkope!
Our Medical volunteers had a fantastic first week and will continue providing crucial support to our home based care groups, basic wound clinics, and HIV awareness sessions.
Given that a large proportion of Malawians do not have access to adequate health care, or do so when it is too late, our medical initiatives play a vital role within the community.
Through our wound care sessions, we treat basic wounds and prevent local inhabitants from requiring a more costly medical intervention. We also help to spread awareness in the local area regarding prevalent health problems such as HIV and malaria.
This type of care in rural areas is extremely important, as better health allows people to focus on work and caring for the needs of their families.
